1982 Lafite?

I have been a HK tv series mania since I was a kid because my grandma watch them when I was small. My mom used to rent TVB video tapes when I was in primary school, high school, until they start to sell vcds at the pasar malam and now we can easily download from the internet, haha..

I grew up with TVB and I basically learn Cantonese from TVB. At one time, I thought of living and working in HK but as I grew older I know that place is not for me. Hongkie is not as nice as how the TVB series portray them to be. They are still rude and kurang-ajar although they pretend to be SO civilized.

Back to TVB: It annoys me when I hear them speak English in ALL drama, especially:

1) Proposal - phou phou sou
2) Idea - ai tee ya
3) Party - phaa theee..
4) Lift - lip
5) 'Well...'

..and they really got on my nerves when they pronounce Twinkle as Chwing Khou! That's Tavia Yeung's name in the Cupid Stupid series.

Everybody and anybody in HK is a graduate from the University of Harvard, came back from the US, Canada, a successful businessman in the US (Wall Street) blabla... and when they work, they say Phou Phou Sou. When they made a mistake, they shout "Jesus" :-/ Hello, you worship the Big Buddha and you call Jesus. When they get married it's always the Church and when they pray, it must be Wong Tai Sin? LOL!

They used to mention Malaysia too but usually about drugs and death sentence. :-/ Recently, they learn about our Datuk-ship and in the dramas, every Malaysian is a Datuk and they are over dressed, super rich, can have 4 wives and easily own a few mountains of bird's nest and monopolized the Rubber Estate Industry, >_< Now that they found out Sabah is a nice place, they talk about Sabah in almost every tv series. Well, it's a good promo though :) Visit Malaysia!

Next is, The Wine in HK. Over the decate(s), Hongkies have been drinking the 1982 Lafite in almost EVERY tv series and I bet the whole world is running out of stock because they are all exported to HK. LOL!

They used to drink Lafite everytime they dine in Restaurants but recently they even drink the 1982 Lafite when having dinner AT HOME! I don't see them drinking plain water anymore. I doubt Lee Ka Shing would drink vintage wine everyday. Not that he cannot afford but he needs water too, okay? Huhuhu..

Sorry, for those who do not watch HK TVB series will not understand what I say but if you do... it's a tribute to Hongkie and TVB, hahahaha...

Psst! Bollywood movies also speaks 4/10 English, but they don't have so many phou phou sou to do at work-lah.. :-/

You call that 'EAT' ah?

We always hear and read about exercising to a healthier life. What about slim people, do they need exercise too? As far as I know, exercise burns fat!

They say when you are unhappy, your body cannot absorb nutritions intake because your digestive system is sad too. I have lost some weight recently over a depression. I have been eating alot lately, like 5 meals a day because I want to be able to fit perfectly into my jeans again.. I have noticed some improvement though, slow.. >:)

Girls nowadays really do NOT eat, so people thought we don't eat just to stay slim/fit. It's a misconception that I hate most. Though Candy's cool with it but I specially hate it when plump people tells me that I don't eat. Too bad even if they don't eat they are still fat! *&^%$#@!!

A FAT classmate of mine name Jojo (waist 29) keep saying that I don't eat, eventhough we have lunch together 'frequently' for almost 2 years and my rice just happen to be 3 times of hers. Because her portion is so small, you just cannot imagine she can actually tahan for 1 whole day!

"You and Candy don't eat ah?" <-- Jojo's favourite quote.

My favourite quote on lunch time with Jojo "You call that EAT ah?"

Fat ass... *&^%$#@!!!

I dated a guy...

Apart from watching so many HK dramas lately, particularly from TVB, I... I... hihihi.. dated a few guys too :">

I regret to inform you that none of them clicked.

The first one was a guy whom I met in the lift, almost every time I finish work. He would smile to me and say "Hi" nervously. Call me crazy but I really love to see guys blushing and shivering when they talk to you, sometimes they can say the wrong things at the right time and it makes me laugh. And "No, I'm not angry." :) I'm happy because they like you, that's whay they are nervous.

Let's name the lift boy... Emanuel. One day, he decided to speak to me and let's do a summary here or it's gonna take forever to complete this post:

Day 1 - he said 'Hi, you look familiar". I smiled and say because we see each other in the lift everyday. He was happy that I actually noticed him (not I think but he said he was happy).

Day 2 - "Hey, how's work today. I happen to saw you in Facebook. Are you Mandy? I'm Emanuel." (Wow, he searched me :D I thought) We officially introduced ourselves and he added me in Facebook. No, no, no, not the CandyMandy account it's my personal account. Who's gonna date a sex toy wholesale queen? Wuhahahaha!

Day 3 - He wrote me a New Year Card

Day 4 - He gave me a New Year PRESENT ^o^ guess what? A movie ticket and his handphone number.

Day 5 - We went for a dinner and a movie, he was decent :)

Day 6 - We went for a lunch, movie, dinner, movie... Vat the hell is wrong with this guy.. all the time movie? :-/

Day 7 - I need a day off from this guy -_-# so annoying. He wants to watch movie again! I said No.

He continue to ask me out after that but I know he was a little too ordinary for me, so I stop going out with him. His calls become lesser, I guess he should have sensed my thoughts.

I stop seeing Emanuel in the lift. After a week of cooling off, I almost forgotten his existance, we met again in the lift when I went home 5 minutes earlier than usual. Oh.. he was avoiding me. Anyway, I'm a lady, I greeted him like before but he was a little reluctant to say that "Hi" anymore. You see? This kind of quality guys?

The next day, he sent me a bouquet of flowers with a note "I'm sorry Mandy. Do you want to catch a movie tonight? From the auditor you once dated" and again there was a movie ticket!

MOVIE MOVIE MOVIE ! >_< What's wrong with this Leonardo De Caprio?

I was so mad that I went up to his office and returned him the movie ticket with an excuse that I have watched that movie. He suggested another movie, I said no, why don't we go get a beer? visit the museum? the art gallery? round island? smoke in gurney drive? picnic? go to amusement center and play games? go out together with other friends and play cards? fly a KITE?!

He looked at me like he doesn't understand what I said. =_=

I said "Ok, why don't we meet once a month for a movie I pick because I cannot keep watching movies everyday and eventually the cinemas are gonna run out of movie to show, right?" He laughed. I'm I funny???? He didn't get my sarcasm and I felt hurt. Damn.. LOL! &^%$#!

He called me the following night asking if he had a chance. I nicely told him that we are better of to remain as friends, catch a movie once a while because we cannot click. He was ok with my answer, at least I'm frank, right?

After that, he confidently greets me "Hi" whenever he sees me. Ain't that a happy ending? But I didn't get the 1 movie 1 month invitation anymorelah, shit.. what a small gas guy. Ceh!

The Man..dy?

I was home over the weekend n my father surprised me with a new writing table in my room that he made. I was happy to receive the gift. It's nothing exclusive but it's the thought that counts. It's an ordinary wall mounted table which I designed.. or let's not make it sound so professional. I simply scribbled on a paper during the Raya weekend because I was bored with my table.

I'm so used to the fact that my father can fix / make almost anything, we seldom pay the professionals to do it. He is not a carpenter, he could build me a table, my extra ordinary large shoe rack, he's not a plumber, he could fix a tap, the toilet, the sink, he's not a wireman but he concealed my phone, internet cables in my room within an hour. What else he cannot do? :) Not trying to boast about my dad but Candy's dad can build a fish pond, fix the automatic gate, infact her dad can build more things!

Then I recall a guy which I dated, Danny, a 6 ft tall guy. You know, every girl wants to have a tall boyfriend who can protect them but unfortunately being tall is not enough. There's once, the tap in our apartment burst. Candy n I took turns to mop the floor because the water just couldn't stop and the plumber was on strike. Danny came by but he couldn't fix. Our fathers could easily fix it but WOW :O he could't? Okay, Candy's boyfriend came, he was a student but he fixed it. Good, he's the man!

That guy just don't know how to fix anything! Tap leak = don't know / a new dvd player = don't know how to connect / my lighting bulb is not working, he suggest that I change the bulb when it was the starter that spoilt (come'on, I also know). Being with him makes me feel helpless. Anyway, he was also a mommy's boy which was the main reason it all ended.

Candy says I'm gonna be lonely n grow old alone because I behave like a spinster, LOL. I'm starting to worry.. Am I going to spend my whole life alone because I can take care of such small things or simply with a man who cannot make me feel secure? Simple wiring call electrician, tap leak call plumber, car puncture call tyre shop? I mean, he has to be a millionaire to make those calls every minute! We all need a partner to be there for, to talk to, to cuddle, to love, to be loved but hey, is there a class / workshop that can make Danny tougher? You need not be a Master of All Trades but at least know abit? Can? Pls? Or else Mandy's gonna be so lonely because she knows how to change a bulb, stop a leak, CALL a plumber, CALL a wireman, CALL a fireman, policeman..

I know Danny's reading my blog.. I hate your stepmom, Dan! Kill her and I'll do all the plumbing, LOL!

Shhhhh... shut tttsup!

I bet we all have met people who can't speak properly or were they trying to 'be' somebody. This blog is specially dedicated to people who CAN speak properly but have choosen not to.

I find one of my colleagues Mary, which seriously ANNOYS me VERY MUCH because of the way she speaks. Let me try to put it in words:

Cantonese: Chhhhor hai tttsOu lah (sit right here)

Hockkien: Chhaaap Cheeeet Lau (17th floor)

Mandarin: Wo Gang Chhhhhai Chhhhheeeeeee (I went to... just now)

Every word is full of CHHHHHHH and it's making me go mad everytime she speaks to me! Why? She has no braces on her teeth, she can pronounces 'S' (so i'm sure her tongue is long enough) and it only happens when she speaks Chinese dialects! WHY??!!

Even her English is our local Manglish. When I first met her I thought she must be like 'totally' ENGLISH educated born in the US with 0% exposure to other races other than Caucasian.

One day I heard her saying "no, no, i ming, jilo jilo fai fai" (0055) and what the heck??!!!!

She claims to have completed her SPM Bahasa Cina but she pretends that she can't read chinese! It breaks our heart to see people who masters Chinese and yet they are shy to admit it. Candy and myself are working hard to learn Chinese by ourselves because we are from Sekolah Kebangsaan instead of what people like to say "English Educated" and believe it or not, in Chinese he/she/3rd party have different ways of writing, 他 for the masculine gender and 她 for the feminine. The Chinese language is indeed amazing and I bet I'm gonna spend the rest of my life learning it but unable to master it.

And what makes those people trying to pretend not knowing how to read Chinese?! Does that help to improve their English?

Ops sodi, chhhhhaaap chhhhhheeet lau.... egg egg fai jilo chlee!

Pok Bob

Mandy is trying to take a nap and the old couple (our neighbour) started to quarrel again. I cannot sleep even with the softest lullaby playing, I need peace, not to mention all the slamming doors and banging tables next door. No wonder the stupid rent is cheap! I thought I was smart to rent a big unit with cheap rental. I had to turn on my notebook and BLOG away the hours.

While checking my emails, I got a forwarded video from a friend where a 20 yr old gf hits her bf's testicles then face, then again demanded him to move his hands away while he was trying to cover (protect) his balls with his hands and *crashed* his eggs! I have immediately uploaded it on our blog hoping to share this lesson with all readers out there.

Back to our neighbour, the 2 old bags... They are both arguing in Hakka (one of the Chinese dialects) and again I happen to speak Hakka although I'm not puak Hakka. So it left me no choice but to 'understand' what they were quarreling.

Let's name them first, husband: Uncle Bob / wife: Aunty Pok cause she's just toooooooooo annoying and bermulut popok, I cannot think of another name!

Storey goes: Aunty Pok was grumbling when Uncle Bob was watching dunno what news on Astro. I assume Uncle Bob couldn't hear the tv while his wife is yelling, so uncle turned the volume louder. Aunty Pok alsoo assumed uncle Bob buat perangai and she started to scream.

Pok: Are you trying to ignore what I said?!!!!

Bob: Could you zip you mouth for 20 minutes, I'm trying to watch the news! I'll argue with you after the news, can??! (LOL, uncle's cool)

Pok: What do you mean by that? (continue shouting... =_=) I don't know why did I got married to you, *&^%$#@!! (some dialect vulgar words)

Bob: Shhhhh....!!!

Pok: Do you remember when you had an affair with the 7th floor lady, huh??? I was too forgiving at that time not to file a divorce and now you treat me like an enemy everyday, I cannot take it anymore!

*bing* *bang* *bomb* *slam* --> *silent*

While I was busy interpreting to Candy... after all the battle, they became silent. I hope nothing happened to Uncle Bob. If I were him, I'd have divorced this crazy woman when she started to talk loudly maybe like 20yrs ago. Can't seem to give peace a chance! A total nuisance!!!!!!!!!!

Usually is Aunty Pok yelling, I seldom hear Uncle Bob talk loudly. It reminds me of my grandparents. Quarrel everyday but not to the extend of neighbours "had to" listen to them like us.... =_=

Okay, I can take a nap now and I hope they don't talk to each other from now on. >:)

I QUIT !

Have you ever quit your job because you woke up one day and felt like "I wanna quit!!!!!!!!!!!!" ? I often do. Candy thinks I need psychiatric help -_-#

I quit my part time job as a waitress last week. This time, not because I feel like it but because I found out our supervisor stole our tips. We are not allowed to individually accept tips from customers. All tips are to be collected in a tip box and will be divided among the servicing team on our pay day. Absolutely unfair. Some waitresses serve in a rude manner, I seriously don't think they deserve tips.

Last week (pay day), I caught our supervisor Rachel holding the tip box and her face was like --> $_$

I was nervous, what was I suppose to do? Pretend that I didn't see it? Run around yelling "Rachel stole our tips !!" ??

Thank god we have cameras in our phones nowadays, I captured how she pocketed the few pieces of RM10. But then I thought... who am I suppose to show it to? The manager? The boss? The 'tai Ci yeh' (boss son)? LOL. It was not an easy decision...

Finally I didn't show it to anybody because I'm such an angel, I didn't want to create a hooha. Anybody could have done that if they were the supervisor, I comforted myself. Anyway I was tired of playing Diner Dash and it gave me a good reason to quit. I walked up to the manager, and quit. Before I left, I transferred that video via bluetooth to Rachel and wished her good luck. You know, hoping that she'll stop stealing our blood and sweat. I think there shouldn't be much tips this month because Mandy's no longer there :P wuhuhhuhu!

This explains why I've neglected our blog this week >:) cause I needed a new part time job. I just couldn't sit at home and grow moss all over my body. Kikiki...

'Ginny' in the handphone

Mandy realised she hasn't been telling tales for quite some time. So Mandy is here tonight, gossiping a little about our friends...

I'll make it short as want to get some sleep tonight. We got class tomorrow, anticipating the Monday Blues =_=

Not long ago, there's something rather interesting happened in our college and coincidently the victim was one of our weekly classmate (we combine class for a particular subject once a week), Ginny. Ginny is a very normal looking girl but she slept with, like ALL the guys in our college. She could get almost any guy because of her 'warm' and 'easy going' personality. Yes, we study in a crocodile territory.

Ginny and us are ok friends because we are not bothered about her easy going personality. I believe those who like us will not be interested in Ginny. And those who like Candy will not fall for me and vice versa. We have different targets and markets. Sorry, no cat fights in this story >:)

Ginny will usually brag about her courtship with guys and that she never made a first move. Bad liar isn't she? We're ok with it but we admit we are pretty curious on what she would do or say to bring those guys onto bed, LOL. She's just a lady alligator.

Ginny fancied a guy Ken who happens to be our classmate and almost did what she could to win Ken. She was a little unfortunate this time because Ken, is not a sex maniac and somewhat close to us >:) Yes, we get first hand news! We often interview Ken about Ginny and were surprised what she could do to trap him.

One day, Ken came to us and played a voice recording file on his handphone, just to end our curiosity towards Ginny's so called "tactics". The voice was Ginny:

She confessed how she fell in love with Ken, how her body sweat whenever she sees Ken. Wow, I thought I was crazy when my palms sweat everytime I smile to the guy who looks like H, but this girl's whole body sweat -_-'' She also sat behind Ken in purpose, just to smell his perfume blended with sweat and hair regardless if he did or didn't wash his hair.

She enjoys peeping at his underwear because Ken likes baggy fashion, followed him home cause she wants to know where he stays, pretends to pick a pen in front of him when she intends to show her cleavage and panties :D~ Good for you, I told Ken. Unfortunately Ken didn't realise. What a waste or maybe he was playing dumb? Who knows.

The recording went on when she sang Ken a song by Christina Aguilera "Ginnie in a bottle" x_x Ken described himself shivering and almost shit on his pants; it's hillarious but I can imagine that. I suggest that he send the singing part to Malaysian Idol >:)

Maybe it was supposed to be something sexy for a guy but I don't really get it, same goes to Candy and Ken. Maybe Ken is gay? LOL... Anyway, I've added 10 marks to Ken and I would like to reserve Ken for Candy >:) kikiki...

Mandy The Gossip Mongger

I'm so tired. Class has been postponed so today I went to work instead. Who says being a waitress is an easy job? Look at me! Candy said I look like I just came back from war. I don't think I 'look' like, but I feel like there are 3 sacks of rice on my shoulder. My neck is... arghhh...

I'm really tired but still waiting for the landlord's daughter Selina to finish her princess bath. She's been cleaning herself for almost an hour and I suspect she's really hairy, or I should say "furry" on the inside.

While she's counting her hair, let's gossip a little about her. Selina is more than just 'not pretty', she's talkative, she looks down on almost everybody but she is the most confident girl I ever met. I don't know how she develops her self confidence but it's just incredible because her face can just tell you "Hey look at me, I'm beautiful" LOL!

Selina would be in the same class with us once a week when we had to combine class for a particular subject. She had an affair with our college lecturer Mr X last year because none of us knew that Mr X is married. They even rented hotel room just to have sex. One sunny day, another lecturer unintentionally mentioned to us (Candy and I) about Mr X and his wife over a casual conversation. We were shocked because afew of us in class knew that they were in a courtship for about 3 months. We didn't do anything because we saw how Selina lost her best friend because she tried to convince her that Mr X was no good for her. I said to Candy "She wouldn't believe us, do you want to tell her?" We agreed to forget about what we heard on that day, but I'm not sure what the others would do if they knew Mr X had a wife.

Not long after that, I saw Selina crying in front of her computer one day. She told me Mr X decided to break up with her because he had no privacy being together with her. I agree with Mr X because Selina is the type who'll REALLY stick on to you wherever you go and calls you 100 times a day to check your location. X had to totally ignore all her calls after the breakup. I wasn't shock but I had to pretend to, you know, "Oh what happened? I thought both of you were gonna be the sweetest couple on earth... bla..."

I was surprised she told me the whole story shamelessly, including how X got down on her when they had sex. **18SX** I don't know but I guess when a woman / girl is heart broken, they lose their sanity. I recall a friend of ours who use to dislike me but on the night when she lost her virginity, of all her friends, she called ME to announce that important 'incident'. I'm still wondering why me? Even until today...

We are nice to everyone but unfortunately, Selina hates me and Candy so much, we had no idea since when all this hatred started but we had to be nice to her as we are renting her dad's property. Thank god we'll be moving out end of this month and we no longer need to see her ever again.

Well, back to her break up story. She didn't give up on Mr X, she continued to call, sent hundreds of sms / emails, left voice mailSsss to him, when X no longer has the intention to get back with her. That week after their break up, Selina lost her mind that day.. she was kinda over dressed, just to attend Mr X's class, sent herself flowers that day and pretend to talk on her cell phone as if there is another guy on the other end, during X's class. +_+ How do I know she sent herself flowers and talk to nobody on her phone? Haha, because she told me her plan on how to win X back, hahaha! I gave no advice to her, I told her to let go. As predicted, she didn't take my advice.

Mr X look at her like she was never once special to him; smiled to her and say "Your bf sent you a nice bouquet. That's all for today, happy weekend class" and over the weekend, Selina cried alone. At this moment I felt sorry for what ever happened to her once but when I regain my conscious, *ah, she's finally done bathing but the time is 1.18am now* She's such a stupid hairy monster and padan mukalah X cheated on her!

Ok, I'll make it quick cause I wanna bathe! Finally, one of our classmates told our Course Dept Head of what happened between X and Selina. Mr X was terminated from the college and Selina was being expelled. Since then, she never talk to us again eventhough we stay under the same shelter. She assumed we were the ones who told our college management about their affair so that their courtship/relationship/affair ended tragically.

After sometime, I still heard people gossiping about Selina because who and who saw her waiting in front of Mr X's house in his HOMETOWN! Hello?!!! Fly all the way to Sarawak to dig him out??!! Die die also must find X!!

That was the last time we heard gossips about Selina and X. I think she met Mrs X, or maybe they had a fight, still trying to figure out what happen in between before she decided to let go of Mr X. She knew she was stupid, she just couldn't accept reality. I don't know why am I surrounded by all these crazy women who would do everything to make a man stay??!!

The Gossip Mongger,
Mandy ^_^
